If you answered a, g or h to why you want to make a chainmail
If you answered a: "You are bored and have nothing to do evenings and weekends for the upcoming year or so." , just a slight warning. Most probably you will get sore fingers and smell like an ironworks, but if that's no trouble... Go for it! It's much more fun than needlework or making pottery...
If you answered g: "You think it will be comfortable to wear." , well, you're not entirely wrong here, it is comfortable to wear.
For a while.
Then it get's heavy.
Very heavy.
Only so you're perfectly aware of this.
And finally, if you answered h: "You think it will look cool to wear at partys.", think of this: Very likely it will look cool. Many people will think it is cool. You will also think it's cool, until it's getting late and you're going home. Because at one time or another you'll probably have to go outside. And then I can almost promise that if you're not very careful, you will also become very cold. A nasty effect of real iron chainmails is that they have a tendancy to "steal" your body heat, an experiance a lot of people prefer not to have to share with something like a chainmail. Also look at the comment to the previous answer.
Thought it over? Still convinced you want to make one? Alright, just don't blame me... next question
